OASCD Spring Research Institute Overview

This is a unique conference and the only one of it’s kind.  This is a working team conference.  Thursday is a day of sessions that team members may choose from, teams may send members to each of the sessions or whole teams may attend specific sessions.  Teams typically bring their school improvement plans and spend the 3 days reviewing, evaluating and refining their plans. 

The Consultants present their basic material on Thursday and then are available for individual work with teams on Friday.  Teams will sign up for the consultant or consultants of their choice during the Thursday evening Banquet. Consultants will meet with individual teams in their condo for 50 minute sessions on Friday.  This time has proven to be invaluable to teams. Consultants can truly focus on the specific needs of a team. 

The conference is limited to 100 people so consultants have the ability to meet with several teams.  This is a unique experience and very productive.  Teams set their own work time schedule, many will start Thursday evening, all day Friday with a couple of good breaks, dinner out and wrap up Friday evening or Saturday morning before departing.  Collaboration  is a hallmark of this  conference, not only for your team but meeting other teams focusing on the same issues.
